We are here to serve the community in various ways. Our worship service is at 9:30 on Sunday mornings usually followed by an adult Bible Study except in the Summer. Our Thrift Store is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 8:30 until noon. There is a wide variety of clothes, furniture, household items, books, and a special Christmas shop. We do offer pick up and deliver services.
The Boys and Girls Club offers an after school program. This program includes a time for study, recreation, refreshments, and socialization. For more information call 680-0011. Transportation is provided by school bus from area schools.
Our Food Pantry is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 until 3:00. This is for residents of Silver Springs Shores who are in need of food. We provide a bag of groceries which includes cereal for breakfast, peanut butter and jelly for lunch, and spaghetti with sauce, canned chicken or tuna, mac and cheese for dinner. In addition we try to have soup, vegetables, and fruit in the bag with a loaf of bread.
We work with the Domestic Violence program and provide Christmas for families. Each fall is "Sock it to Me" where we collect socks for the homeless and they are distributed to various area programs. We have hosted the Freedom Health Clinic. We work with Lake Weir High School and host the JV basketball practices and the AP and IB end of year testing. Thursday evenings, we host a Table Tennis program.
We host the local Kiwanis Club, the local Soap Box Derby program, Boy and Girl Scout programs, and many local organizations use our facilities on an occasional basis. On Sundays, one will find not only our congregation worshipping and praising God, one will also find several other churches using our facilities for the worship and praise of God.
